What is Tribulus terrestris, Gokhru?

A herb with many names: Tribulus terrestris, Gokshura, ChotaGokhru, Puncture vine, Devil's weed, Gokhru. Tribulus terrestris is known as gokshura in Sanskrit, which means "cow's hoof", probably because the small thorns like to get stuck on grazing animals. It is native to warm temperate and tropical areas in southern Europe, southern Asia, throughout Africa and Australia. It can also thrive in desert climates and poor soil. It is often treated as a weed, as it grows along roads, railway lines...
